Do you or someone you know have excessive sweating? It might be Hyperhidrosis. Texas Tech Physicians Dermatology provides tips on how to treat this disorder:
Sweating is a normal body function. It is the body's way of cooling off its systems. If there is excessive sweating, it may be hyperhidrosis. This causes social problems as well as emotional problems for both males and females. It can begin at any age but the good news is there are many treatments.
Over-the-counter antiperspirants, prescription antiperspirants, pills and surgery are available. Your physician (including dermatologists, family physicians, neurologists, internal medicine physicians, and thoracic surgeons) will be able to go into details on how to treat a specific individual.
If more research is desired before speaking with a professional, the International Hyperhidrosis Society (IHHS, http://www.sweatsolutions.org) is a good place to start.
