Keloid Injections and Removals

Keloid is scar tissue that has become larger than a normal scar and is found sometimes at a place where an old scar is and grows over it. It is a large, dysfunctional nodule that can sometimes be painful and/or tender and usually are unsightly areas. Patients often seek to have them removed and Texas Tech Physicians Dermatology is able to help a patient with this procedure.

If you are the one with the Keloid scarring, there are a couple things you can do until you are able to see the doctor.

avoid injuring the area again (such as piercing)
you can apply pressure to a scar gently with a gel pad to reduce the size or pain
