COVID-19 Vaccine Guidance & Status

PEDIATRIC PATIENTS AGES 5-11
Can Now Receive the COVID-19 vaccination

CDC accepted and approved the recommendation that children ages 5–11 be vaccinated against COVID-19. The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine authorized for this age group is over 90% effective at preventing COVID-19.

All Texas Tech Physicians Pediatrics clinics in LUBBOCK currently have the Pfizer vaccine available for your child during normal well child appointments, or at select vaccine clinics.

Moderna vaccine boosters available
• Moderna vaccine is a two-dose series.
   Must be 18 years old to receive it.
• There is no cost to the patient to receive the vaccine.


AMARILLO TEXAS TECH PHYSICIANS - Moderna COVID-19 vaccines are available.

Texas Tech Physicians in Amarillo is administering booster shots of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine to individuals who received a Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine at least six months ago. The Moderna COVID-19 booster dose is half of the dose that is administered for the primary series dose. For individuals who received the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine, booster shots are also recommended for those who are 18 and older and who were vaccinated two or more months ago.

AMARILLO TEXAS TECH PHYSICIANS - Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines are available 

The Pfizer vaccine is a two-dose series

The pediatric vaccine is administered to children 5-11 years old. It's 1/3 the dose of the adult version. It can be administered at the same time as other regularly-scheduled vaccines.

The adolescent/adult vaccine is administered to people 11 years old and older.
