Treatment of Problematic Sexual Behaviors (PSB)

Center for Superheroes

Targets problematic sexual behaviors (e.g., sexual acting out, lewd acts, rape) in children ages 3 to 18. Protocol is divided according to developmental level

  • Ages 3-5
  • Ages 6-12
  • Ages 13-18

  • Ages 3 to 5: approximately 15 sessions
  • Ages 6 to 12: approximately 20 to 25 sessions
  • Ages 13 to 18: approximately 52 sessions (the adolescent protocol is one year long, our longest treatment protocol)

2 Randomized Controlled Trials (RCTs) have been conducted on the 3 to 5, and 6 to 12 protocols. The adolescent protocol original data showed a 95% success rate and currently the University of Oklahoma is conducting a 20 year review of the data for the adolescent protocol. It has been implemented statewide in the state of Oklahoma.
