Maximize Physical Functioning

Improve quality of life.

The Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) Division is housed within the Division of Neurology at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.

Physiatry, also known as rehabilitation medicine. The goal of physiatry is to maximize physical functioning, greatly decrease or eliminate pain, foster independence, and improve the quality of life for those suffering with a disability, chronic pain and physical impairments.  We help patients to recover from injuries such as spinal cord injury, stroke, and traumatic brain injury.  We help patients with pain to avoid surgery, and when it is needed, provide the diagnostic services to make sure they have the best possible outcome.

Texas Tech Physicians Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation provides a wide spectrum of clinical services to provide for the health care needs of adult patients and pediatric patients with disability in West Texas and Eastern New Mexico. Our physiatrists collaborate with health care professionals across Texas Tech Physicians to provide seamless, patient-centered care.
