In partnership with UMC Health System, our multi-disciplinary team approach to weight loss surgery provides successful long-term weight loss for each patient.

Weight Loss Surgery Options

Sleeve Gastrectomy (Restrictive Procedure)

In this surgery, two-thirds of the stomach is permanently removed. Sleeve gastrectomy creates a sleeve or tube-like structure and permanently reduces the size of the stomach.

Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass (Restrictive + Malabsorptive Procedure)

A small part of the stomach, roughly the size of an egg, is used to do this surgery. Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery reduces the amount of food you take in at meals since the smaller stomach is connected directly to the middle portion of the small intestine. This bypasses the rest of the stomach and upper portion of the small intestine, reducing fat and calories absorbed from foods that you eat, thus increasing your weight loss potential.

Laparoscopic Adjustable Band (Fills + Revisions)

Revisions or conversions are provided on Laparoscopic Adjustable Band.

Revisional Bariatric Surgery

Revisional surgery is available for patients who have side effects, complications or weight regain after the laparoscopic adjustable band, sleeve gastrectomy and Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgeries.

Biliopancreatic Diversion with Duodenal Switch (Restrictive + Malabsorptive Procedure)

This surgery is performed for very high BMI patients as a staged procedure. A biliopancreatic diversion will change the normal process of how you digest food by making the stomach smaller. Food bypasses part of the small intestine and fewer calories are absorbed. This type of weight loss surgery has its risks and only a select patient population will require and meet the criteria for the surgery.

An appointment will be scheduled within 48 hours and our office will contact you with the appointment information. If your insurance requires a referral or authorization, have your PCP request it and send it to us using the fax number above.

Payment Details

Payment is expected at the time of services. All self-pay patients will be required to contact TTUHSC Central Financial Screening at 806-743-1970 x268 before appointment can be scheduled. Most Insurance companies require co-pays be be collected. It is up to you to know what co-payment for your insurance is required. These fees will be collected at the time of your visit. Check/cash/major credit cards are accepted.
